The city of Indianapolis is on the verge of cultural development. Supportive connections are necessary in a thriving community. Through my research I have found that Indianapolis has many businesses, organizations, and individuals who are trying to create an impact on the development of their city. But their efforts and resources are divided.
Indy Alliance House addresses this issue by facilitating mutually beneficial partnerships amongst the Indianapolis community. By engaging and collaborating with the all of individuals in the partnership an effective relationship can develop with the generation of a plan and defined goals that meet everyones needs and desires.
Sharing the resources and expertise of one another will create a community network full of valuable connections. Successful community partnerships will contribute to the growth of Indianapolis. The goal is not only to connect businesses, organizations, and individuals but to strategically build the relationship and maintain the partnership quality.
Over the course of 11 weeks my team worked on a research project with the focus of the Indianapolis music scene. Our research lead us to find that the music culture in Indy is growing, but it could use a little help connecting it's existing efforts. Through the process of the project we identified that a musician's organization would be the perfect solution. We developed a prototype of what the organizations structure would be. Below is a link to the prototype and my case study.
The craft beer scene has create a cultural movement in Indiana, there are 23 breweries in the metro area alone. I took a look at the current Sun King Brewery experience and found that besides the amazing beers that they brew needed something to make them unique. In order to improve upon the already great experience SKB needs to build a consistent relationship with the craft beer consumers. This App provides incentives for loyally choosing Sun King brews both at the brewery and locally.

Any one who has been a student or visitor at IUPUI they know how frustrating the parking situation can be. This project was focused on developing solutions to help the IUPUI student drivers from becoming so angry about parking on campus. After researching the problem space my team developed a set of integrated solutions to help solve this issue. My individual solution was a quiz that needed to be taken at the time of purchasing a parking permit. This would not be a pass or fail type of quiz but more of an information portal to help the students learn about parking policies, alternatives, and newly adapted information. In order to get our ideas to the people that mattered we created a proposal document and presented it to a few key stakeholders.
The concept behind this brand identity was to convey the movements of the judo and jiu jitsu practice in an abstract manner. The black figure in the back is throwing the white figure from behind towards the ground. This dynamic movement creates a composition that gives the logo a sense of complementary forces that are interacting. In the large format the kanji give the negative space balance and direction. The typeface pairing allows the word “Kodokwan” to be emphasized with weight and detail.
IMS 2015 Credential Badge. While working at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway I had the privilege of designing the Indianapolis 500 Credential Badge. The design of this badge was successful due to the collaboration of my team, the bottom half was taken from the 2015 Indianapolis 500 logo and the top portion’s concept came into play because Al Unser was the Honored Legend that year. I was very excited about this project because I get to be a historic part of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Tradition and Speed T-shirt Design. This was a fun project that I did while at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The T-shirts were for IMS employees that were competing in the Indiana Sports Corp Corporate Challenge. There are a variety of concepts for the T-shirt, but the first one shown was the one that we went with.
School along with free time is a great time to explore other mediums. I loved the freedom of guiding the materials for some of my projects. This is just a collection of some work that displays my hand crafting skills. If you have any questions about these projects feel free to ask. Enjoy.
